** Dog’s pads
We have to remember that dog’s pads are the main point of contact with the freezed surface and salt being spread all over it. This can cause their cracking, irritation or even inflammation. In the extreme cases – it would involve the pharmacological treatment.
How to prevent it? Each time when you go out with your Pet you should lubricate its pads with special ointment. You can buy it in the zoological shop. At least if you don’t have one use oil or grease. Remember about it because skin irritation of your Pet can be very painful for it. There are also special shoes on the market for Pets that are really sensitive to cold. It’s gonna be also helpful regarding salt on the snow and mechanical injuries.
After every walk when you come back, wash your dog’s paws with lukewarm water. There still might be some salt or sand flecks between its paw fingers.
