I think this might just be a misunderstanding. We tend to get a lot of people here looking only to promote their youtube channels, blogs, etc. If it appears a member is trying to promote such links, we tend to classify it as spam (we have a no spam rule in place) and remove it. Here are our forum rules just so you can get a bit more info.
