Ozzy and Lily are still doing so well. Such a joy to have both of them ☺. Although Lily is a bit more of a challenge with reactivity then Ozzy was, she whoofs at people and barks at dogs. She is getting so much better with people she sees, sometimes not even letting a whoof out, but I'm still waiting for her to see the person and immediately trying to counter her response to a positive one, so when I say "oh a person" (with mild excitement) she looks to me for the treat.

She can now meet other animals and dogs if she wants to so yesterday she met two big dogs that live around the block. One is part wolf! So HUGE! But so nice and Ozzy already knows them and is cool with them. The other is shorter and a very thick bully type. The owner called out to me if I wanted to bring Ozzy and Lily over to meet his dogs which were loose in the front yard. I picked up Lily because I knew she would just bark her way over and let Ozzy approach them initially. Ozzy was an angel even with the big boy who was easily 2 times his height. I was feeding Lily treats while holding her trying to let her know this was a good thing. Then it dawned on me (and also buddy reminded me) that by holding her I was essentially creating like border frustration since she couldn't see the dogs. I put her down and she was such a brave little girl! No barking and she seemed comfortable enough to sniff around a bit. The owner and I talked a bit while the dogs all hung out together (obviously I was keeping a close eye) but they both did soooooooo well!

I found out later the guy did dog training for police and his two dogs were so well behaved. So now we have some new friends and I'm so proud of my donkeys ☺

Also I left them both at home alone today for the 1st time to pay my license stuff. I give Ozzy a box with treats hidden inside and shredded paper when we leave him alone. So I made Lily a smaller box and put it in her pen. She was afraid to go into the box so I scattered some all over her pen. I left and didn't hear one peep! So idk if Ozzy went to clean up the rest of the treats in her box or what but there was a bit of shredded paper (more shredded than I shredded them) and two calm and happy puppies. Lily is a bit more work with reactivity out and about but she is so much easier with leaving alone then Ozzy was. I'm sure the fact that Ozzy is cool with it now helps! But so proud and happy with my pups!

So we got our snow dump yesterday 😋 It was really sticky snow, perfect snowball making.....and sticking to schnauzer legs ☺

It was Lily's 1st real snowfall!

C'mon, let's play shovel!

This is what he does. Stares at the shovel in hopes we will be using it. He loves to ride the shovel with his two front paws as I drag it scoop upwards and bounce and growl at it lol.

I made some snow trails again all around the backyard.

It helps with the snowballs and the dogs love to rip around the track. But they still insist on wrestling in the deeper snow and get all snowballed up 😋

Snowballs lol!

He sticks his whole face in the snow and starts shovelling. I thought he was trying to remove the snowballs by rubbing more snow on lol.

So we got a little more snow lol. They say 90cm so far, but some of the snow banks are way over head 😯 Needless to say my winter pups have the time of their lives. I've been keeping up with the snow trails, they just love to zip around, weaving through the trails. It's funny they often meet on the side of a 'snow mountain' anticipating each others' movements. It's like two kids in a grocery store with the tall isles, you can't always see the other kid and you check down each isle in anticipation. Sometimes I see Ozzy jumping high trying to catch a glimpse over the snow mountains. Such fun they have in the winter!

Caught Lily in mid run. Those bouncy ears 🤣

Lily is getting so big (well...she is growing up) and Ozzy has so much fun playing with her. It honestly feels like they are playing most of the time. I don't know what I'd do without them!

So Lily does it too! Same thing Ozzy used to do with people we meet on the street. We will be walking toward a person to pass them (say on a sidewalk) and once we pass, she does a quick 180° and follows behind the person. It doesn't break or momentum and the person never notices, but it's the cutest thing (I think it must build confidence so I let them do this). He never did it in front of her, only when he was a baby, so I was surprised when she did it too.

It's the little flirt. Both of them were weary of 'strangers', it's their flight, fight, freeze or flirt response.

On another note this has to be their cutest bitey face session caught on camera
