Went to the LPS today to get more food. Ozzy was such a hit, everyone LOVED him! One lady even took his pic lol. Like a superstar or something. Don't worry he was naked, I didn't make him wear any hoodies ;) But we sure felt special, at least I did haha! So proud of my boo tho. He sat the whole time I was talking to the lady about food. I was feeding him his kibble as he sat and just looked at me, but still, that was pretty darn good amidst all the distractions and new surroundings and ppl ect. I'm very impressed. I guess that made him even cuter, because everyone wanted to say hello and making 'awwwww's.

I got him some freeze-dried raw duck for treats. I meant to get fish skins or something to chew, but forgot. Oh well, guess we'll have to go the next LPS tomorrow ;) Btw he is BONKERS for the duck weenies!

He graduated from puppy class last night! Congrats Ozzy 🤗

We were late this time and got there just as the pups did the excersise of 'wait'. The trainer was timing the puppies to see who waited the longest. By the time we got there, the other puppies had already done their waits, so I had no idea what the top time was. Also I didn't actually work with him for 'wait', he more learned it waiting for his food, to cross the street, ect., so I really had no idea how he'd do.

Well he knew excatly what I wanted him to do! He waited for 28 seconds until I released him. He showed so much focus on me it was amazing! I noticed he was distracted by a noise, his head turned breifly but he stayed in his sit-stay. I was so proud of him I can't even expain. To add to that, we won the 'wait' category!!! I had no idea and didn't expect that all, but Ozzy won a 'Stuffers' toy and a small bag of treats! I was so surprised I said "Wow, look Ozzy! Look what you won!" It was a really good moment 😊

It's been a while since I've updated, Ozzy is now just over 6 months old and probably 16 or more pounds (my scale is out of commision).

I just had to mention how much Ozzy and I love hide and seek! I just learned about the idea yesterday (I know, how did i not think of it). It was not hard to get Ozzy to play, he always wants to know where I am still. I sneak off when he's not looking and when I hear him realizing I'm not there and starts looking I say "Ozzy find me" in a cute friendly voice. My house is very small and I guess he uses my voice to find general location, but I can't believe how good he is at finding me! I swear I'm silent after the initial call and it's like he goes right to me no matter which room I'm in. It's amazing! When he finds me he gets sooooooo excited and I guess I do too lol! The only time he didn't go right to me was when I hid behind the curtain in the shower. He passed the bathroom by a little bit, then came straight to the tub where I was hidden.

How does he find me so quickly and presisely? I've watched hife and seek vids and he is so good at finding me b compared to other dogs I've seen. He often has his nose to ground sniffing footprints in the snow on walks, he must be using his nose!

He impreses me so much 😙

It started with him "helping" me shovel his snow trails in the backyard. Now it's a daily thing whether it snowed or not lol.

Every day he goes up to the shovel in the snow and just stares at it waiting in dire anticipation for me to grab the handle 😂 Those eyes, the energy in the air, I give in every time and take him for a run.

Apologies for the crappy pics and vids lately, my phone needs a repair and I'm using an older device

Our little boy turned 1YO! Guess it's been a while since i've updated huh?

Well a lot has gone down since he came home in the heart of the pandemic times. We are not in the total clear yet and it's been a long journey of uncertainty trying to figure out how to deal with it, but we got through the hump and i'm amazed with how Ozzy is flourishing. He is our absolute joy, loves to make us laugh (repeating whatever action it is making is laugh), loves to play, run, jump, play fight and just plain have fun.

We have started having company over, this is the donut toy our friend brought for him

His little spots tank lol. I was wondering if the lighter color would help to keep him cooler or if the fabric would make him warmer. It's hard being a black dog in the sun.

I am not sure I wanted to say this here, but I want to get it out so here goes.....

We had always planned to have two dogs. We decided against getting littermates with Ozzy and opted to wait until Ozzy was about 1.5 years old to introduce a puppy. Our last two dogs were 1.5 years apart.

Well I sent Ozzy's breeder an update via email for his bday and ended up inquiring over the phone about a puppy if we would be considered. She is 81 years old and is slowing down with breeding, doesn't really know how long she'll be able to continue, but we are so fortunate that she is happy to have us adopt a puppy from her when we are ready! I feel so lucky and i'm getting really excited the more I think about it. We weren't thinking of getting a puppy right now, but she even offered us a puppy whose adopter had to cancel who is currently 7.5 weeks old. We decided to wait and check things out in early fall (she has other potential adopters she approves of to call). But that thought got me all excited even though I knew it was too rushed. I just can't wait!

We really think Ozzy will enjoy a little sister. At first when he was a little pup and probably not until he was 8 months old could I even entertain the idea of him having a friend. But he loves to play with other dogs, especially the ladies.

We really enjoyed having the two dogs with our last two, and they were great together. I'm a bit nervous with how to handle the training of a little pup and making sure Ozzy feels included, but I think with some guidance and learning along the way we will be ready soon! Did I say i'm getting really excited???

I am sure Ozzy is going to make a wonderful big brother, and will do an amazing job of assisting you in helping the little one to learn the 'ropes'!!

Thanks ladies, I'm still over the moon this morning, such a great response from the breeder and after sending pics and having a nice catchup convo on the phone I feel super special and lucky to be considered. She wants us to have another one of her pups! How cool is that?

No doubt I will have tons of questions again, so much has changed with modern training!

We appreciate the kind words 😊!
