Hello everyone,

I'm very excited to be writing my first post on your forum. Long story short, about 2 years ago we woke up to the sight of a dog sleeping at our doors and after some time we decided to keep him (no one contacted us). Two years have passed and we still can't guess the breed :D. I'm no specialist with dogs, can you help me?
He weighs about 40 kg (88 lbs). He's very calm and likes to sleep a lot, rarely barks.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the forum also!
Thank you!

Those are some really good guesses especially the first one however my dog also has a lot of skin under his neck (you can't see it in the pictures, but is almost like bernardines necks). The Tennessee Treeing Brindle is the most similar to my dog so far :), once again an amazing guess!

Cheers!

I’m thinking some molosser/livestock breed mix.

For example you have the Rafeiro do alentejo:

And the perro de presa canario:

Naturally they have pendent- or rose- ears (Which yours appears to have).

You're welcome! I had a feeling it was a Tennessee Treeing Brindle because of his color, I just wasn't sure about the white on him.

Btw do you know his height (to the withers)?

In addition these breeds might be worth considering;

Apart from livestock guarding breeds I’m also thinking he could be mixed with amstaff or other bully breed:
