Hi! We adopted our dog Rousey about 3 weeks ago and she is awesome! We have been crate training her and she usually does really great. However, there have been a few times that she has peed in her crate, last night being the most recent. Does anyone know why she might do this? From what I have read, the crate is used to help prevent accidents as they do not like to go to the bathroom where they sleep. We take her out before bed to make sure she does her business. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

How old is Rousey? If she's still young, she won't be able to hold it through the night. Two month old puppies often can only hold it for two hours at the most, etc. If she's still a puppy, night-time breaks (and several of them) might be required.

From Dr Ian Dunbar: "Puppies have a 45-minute bladder capacity at three weeks of age, 75-minute capacity at eight weeks, 90-minute capacity at twelve weeks and two-hour capacity at 18 weeks."

We need a little more information before we can make some good suggestions. How old is she, and how large is her crate? :)

Sometimes if the crate is large a dog will use one side to sleep and one side as a bathroom. You don't want a crate too small but you don't want a huge crate either.
