Hello everyone!! I’ve recently adopted an AussieDoodle. She’s 8 weeks old and doesn’t have a name! My family and I have gone over and over different names and just can’t find one that seems to fit..want something original and not similar to what we already have..here is a list of the pet names that we already have

And just to let you know—all of these do not live under my roof! Some are my grand babies😂
And my last baby gone but not forgotten..Prim—the Yorkie-Poo
Here is my little beauty She is very silly but a little standoffish too she wants to be near you but does not want to be touched all the time..only when she wants it please help

So Ember won’t work..have some family members that continuously say Amber..which is my sisters name! So back to the drawing board!

Kerry or Kyra both meaning dark haired
Nisha from India means dark or night
Darcy, from the french meaning the dark one

Thanks for your suggestions. I am currently running down the list trying them all out. I’ve gotta figure something soon bc she’s gonna think her name is little girl lol

My last puppy that we bought 8 years ago, we found difficult to find a name too.
I chose a list of about 10 names that I thought I liked and sat with her in a quiet room with no other distractions.
I slowly went through the list (only once) saying the names clearly, to which she ignored until the last one, I said the name, she turned her head and looked towards me, as if to say I like that one. The name was "Hazel", and Hazel is still happy with her name 8 years later.

they sound very melodic and at the same time they are not standard dog nicknames

Twilight, Midnight, Starlight, Moonlight, Luna, Rosa, and although it's not a dark-color-related name, Daisy is one of my favorites.

I too liked Ember when I saw it. What about a different, yet similar version of it? Emberly? Emery? Embri? Emmy is cute, but not really like Ember. Same with Emmalee...shortened to Emmy.
