First post!

TL;DR: New puppy, herds everything, 12-15 lbs @ 13 weeks.

The pictures of him in the red harness are from his second or third day home; the ones in the blue are more recent.

Our local shelter brought in two litters of puppies, and we promptly adopted one. But since we didn't pick one from the litter we thought we would, we're lost on his breed. A few of his brothers/sisters had medium length, almost wavy coats and LOTS of ticking.

He was 8lbs at 9 weeks, and about 12-15 lbs now at approx. 13 weeks.

Let me know if you guys have any guesses as to what breed(s) he is, and how
big he might get! :p

We've had several people suggest border collie/some kind of cattle dog. He tries to herd us and runs circles around everything. The only thing disconcerting are his super floppy ears; no chance of full or even half pricking. They never raise. Reminds me of a lab puppy with his build and ears, sometimes too. Thought JRT or Beagle for a while...so really, no clue.:(
He loves people, sniffs around with his nose to the ground constantly, and seems to have a weak prey drive.

Something in his legs/build remind me of my basset hound, who was 7lbs at 8weeks old. Now he is 47lbs. But it could just be the photo that gives him that look. My first thought was beagle or JRT.

Oh! Something I forgot, he points. Every time I take him outside and he sees something/someone unfamiliar, he stops; freezes; picks up his leg. The whole bit. He won't move his gaze until I go out of my way to divert it, or wait for a little bit.

My GSD would also do that stare and crouch/stalk similar to a BC.

Your pup is probably a mix of a lot of things, could be anything! My ideas lean towards border collie (his color and the herding), pointer (pointing, floppy ears, and siblings' ticking), and possibly some Corgi or Doxie for the long body. I personally don't see any Jack Russel in there, Beagle or other hound is POSSIBLE, but it's hard to tell. This dog would be interesting to get a DNA test on! But even then they're not always right.
