Hello all! I'm finally adopting a lovely cocker spaniel in wherever I'm expat-ing. Unfortunately, they're not as well stocked as most other developed nations so I would need to buy myself an airline-approved crate when I'm holidaying in the US.

I would probably be going to Petco to look for them (any other recommendations?) and I'm not too sure what exactly I would need to look out for.

I know I would need metal screws and some zip ties door, but can anyone confirm this please?

Also, I don't have the dog yet, and I have a rough measurement of him - would this be enough to purchase the crate?

Thank you all so much in advance!

Nope, we'll probably check him in as excess baggage. The flights around here don't allow pets in cabins.
I'm sorry. I only know of the ones for the cabin, but I think maybe if you checked the website for the airline you're using, they may have information.

Check your airlines specific regulations...they all vary a bit.

You will indeed need a crates that bolts together in half...not clips or other type of hasp.

You will need a crate that is large enough for the dog to stand up and turn around.

You will also most likely need a crate mounted water bottle.
