My 4 year old mixed large dog (possibly some yellow lab and pit bull) started licking her paw about 2 weeks ago. She has no health problems. Over the course of a week, her paw was red, swollen, and inflamed. I took her to the vet and they gave her antibiotics with a follow up in a week. the mass was still present and the antibiotics did not help. he took a aspiration of the mass and stated that it was "more than an infection" and shows abnormal cell growth, so he is worried about cancer. They took a sample and sent it off for further testing. I'm in shock since she is completely fine otherwise, and the mass just appeared one day. Has anyone else experienced this type of mass/tumor/growth on their dog? If so, what was it? Thank you!

The pictures below have spots where they did the fine needle aspiration.

Not any way to know what that is without having cells to examine... either cytology to lab (best) or biopsy (which really would only be recommended if that is painful, cytology is worrisome, growing really fast etc.,) and biopsy could end up involving removal of the entire toe.
