My 10 yr old shepherd mix has a histiocytoma on her paw. She was diagnosed with it in September and he gave me antibiotics and it regressed. Last Wednesday she had dental surgery and last night, I left her in the car for awhile while I was in the vets office ( getting 2nd opinion on my little dog's disc injury in her neck), get back in the car, and there is blood everywhere. The tumor came back with a vengeance. Got home and noticed she was continuously licking it. I put some ointment on it, wrapped it, and she had that wrap off in 10 min. Then I find blood on the kitchen floor. Lots of it.
So today I'm at work all day, callled vet 2x as to what to do until I can get her there Friday at the earliest. He never called me back.
Anybody ever have this and know what I can do? I have some antibiotic powder I can put on it cause I don't know if its hurting her or not and I'm worried. I'm thinking that somehow the surgery last week lowered her immune system and caused this thing to return. With a vengeance. Should I try neosportin?
Any help or experience with this would be appreciated. Thank you. I can't miss anymore work this week as I already took 2 1/2 days for Mandy's disc issue and Coda's teeth. I am at work from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Friday is the 1st day I can take her in.
Thx.
