So first and foremost - introductions.
I am 17 years old and I have a German shepherd who is 2 years old. My sister owns a Yorkipoo mutt that is 8 months old. We got my German shepherd, Ares, when he was 8 weeks old during the pandemic. I personally trained him (no classes due to Covid and wow have you seen those prices) since he was a puppy and, not to toot my own horn, but I think I did a pretty good job. He's socialized (at the time we got him we lived in an apartment so he was able to play with the neighbor dogs) and he listens pretty well. He does pull when we go on walks and he also wants to play with every dog he sees, but I think that's his only downside.
Our second dog, Goliath we got when he was only three days old in 2021. We sort of, unofficially fostered his mom (some sort of poodle mix) who was pregnant and had five little healthy babies who we took care of. My aunt wanted to keep two puppies and the mom and take them to South Carolina and we let her. We kept the three other puppies and when the two others were given away, we kept one fat puppy - Goliath. My older sister is the "mom" and I did my best to train him but Yorkipoo's aren't as easy to train as German shepherds.

Of course, let us see baby through today pics! Both are good looking dogs! I'm curious why you find the smaller dog "harder" to train?
Haha I think it's cause I'm so used to my German shepherd that the smaller dog is a bit more stubborn and tougher! I'll get through eventually.

@Far_okra first congratulations on doing well with training Ares, I've no doubt you will get there with Goliath; remember as shepherding dogs, GSDs have been selectively bred over many, many years to follow directions from their handlers whereas terriers work more independently (poodles are more handler focused but when you have a mix, either trait can come through).

However, I'm afraid the forum terms and conditions say that it is not open to people under the age of 18.

This is due to American consumer privacy legislation and not something we, as moderators, have control over.

So I have to ask you to stop.posting for a few months but I hope you will return when you are 18.

Oops! I'll just read the forums quietly then. Thanks!
