Good afternoon,
Was wondering if anyone had any insight as to what this lump could be? We cannot get a vet appointment until mid week next week. This lump appeared and slowly grew to about a half inch high and maybe about the circumference of a nickel ...it’s rock hard almost like bone. I have attached a photo . He is almost one year old and in full of energy and has a great appetite. The bump doesn’t bother him if I touch it. It’s been about a week, we wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a bug bite. He’s a boxer mix (but something tells me he is mostly pit bull.) i’d Love some insight if anyone has any to offer. Thank you!

I am in no way shape or form a vet, but I do have a veterinary handbook! Did it appear out of no where? Because there are basically benign bone tumors called osteomas that can happen on dogs. Then there are calcifying hematomas, but that is only caused by trauma to the area like a bite or a bump. Since its hard and bone-like, Id suspect one of those two.
