My french bulldog Bella is only 10 months old. Just over a month ago she started losing hair in a specific area and the patch has only grown bigger. She has also had lesions/spots growing which are getting worse and more sore over time. We have visited a vet so many times and even had a second opinion but they cannot tell us what it is. They have told us however, they don鈥檛 believe it鈥檚 alopecia. We鈥檝e tried medication and dieting but it still hasn鈥檛 healed. I鈥檓 so worried as you can see she is less cheerful maybe due to discomfort. If anyone has experienced this with their dog or know what it could be, I鈥檇 appreciate any help 馃槪 thanks so much

There can be so many causes. Skin issues can be the most complicated to diagnose.

Some potential causes: allergies, genetic issues, immune deficiency, mites, bacterial infection.

If you bought your dog from a breeder, contact them for advice. If you adopted, try contacting a bulldog rescue group. They may have more experience with this because they specialize in the breed.

Thankyou for the advice!
Time for a trip to a dermatologist. Unfortunately bulldogs of any kind are know as the $10,000 dog in vet practices. They have many health issues. Allergies with skin problems being number one especially in the blue coated dogs.
Thankyou, yes I鈥檝e since learnt they cost a fortune! We have been to the vets many times but they are still unsure what the cause is馃槪

That ALMOST looks like a poison ivy rash on a human.
I think that we saw another poster with a similar belly rash on the forum a few months ago.
