My 9 year old Pomeranian (possible American Eskimo mix), has been making a hacking noise for years. The vet has always told us this is simply a reverse sneeze which is common for small dogs. I was hoping someone else could share their opinion and maybe their dog has the same problem. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing any input!

My Shih Tzu/Poodle does the Reverse Sneeze too .. I don't know the exact cause but my Vet told me they are trying to breathe in through their mouth and nose at the same and she showed me a little trick to help her through it .. I take my thumb and hold it over her nostrils so she just breathes through her mouth and it shortens the episode quite a bit ..
