Hello all,
My family adopted Cooper at about 8 weeks old. He is now around 14 weeks old. We adopted him from North shore animal league in New York. They told us he was from Virginia. They say he is a hound mix which I don't disagree but wondering what you guys think? He was very sick (Porvo) but now fully recovered. He loves kids and really all people.
8 weeks old he was 8lbs now at 14 weeks he is 14 lbs. His body is long and short. Paws good size. Thank you in advance

Maybe some kind of terrier, like rat or jack russell and beagle mixed with something. I'm not sure. Do you have any side shots of him standing? What is his tail set? He's cute.

Hello. Thank you for the reply. I will try to get pictures of him standing. He just got Neutered:( so he has an e collar on. I will take it off and hopefully he cooperates.

Hello.
I took the e collar off to get some pics. All he wanted to do was play once it was off. So made it hard but fun. Lol. One thing I have noticed is his ears are forward now and pushed toward the middle. Could that be from e collar? He is definitely growing fast!

I didn't think of Husky or Australian shepherd at all but I do see more of a resemblance with the Australian Shepherd. The ears being smaller and muzzle. That would be great since I absolutely love Shepherds. Either way I don't care other then maybe knowing what breeds for health reasons.

In my opinion he definitely has some terrier in him. Rat or Jack. We will see how he grows. It's funny cause I wouldn't pick terriers cause of stubbornness. Cooper is perfect though. He is intelligent and has energy enough to hang with our kids and most of all he loves the kids. He cries when we shut our bedroom door and wants them to come too. He quickly goes to bed though after we let him visit them and say goodnight. He also loves to cuddle. Terriers are not my first choice but sometimes it's just meant to be. Then again maybe after reading all these posts here maybe it was more of an appearance preference.

My 12 year old son taught him to give paw in about 5 minutes. He really wanted to teach him paw for no other reason then it is cool. So he googled a few video's and he went to work. It took him longer (1 hour) to find an approach he liked then actually teaching him. Now this is where Terrier comes in he will only do the trick if he thinks we will give him a treat. If we try to fake having a treat he knows somehow and just walks away. He doesn't necessarily get distracted as much as when he is done and he thinks no treats are available he won't perform.

Is it possible to upload a video to this forum.

Thank you
James
