My dog is 1 year 5 months old.

Recently she has become super cranky when she is woken up from sleeping.

It has been a bit chillier then usual here and so we have had our big super soft & fuzzy blanket/throws out. She curls up in/under the blanket on the floor. Sometimes near our feet when we are curled up in the blanket or we will be laying on the floor and she will be under it with us.

Well what keeps happening is either a cat won't see her and walk over her or my husband or I accidentally bump her.

As soon as it happens she growls & snaps.

My husband thinks it isn't a big deal because she is being woken up & perhaps was spooked being woken up. He is like you would be cranky too if someone woke u up like that lol

But it worries me... should I be concerned?
Is there something I should be doing?

Your husband has the right idea, but it could cause a problem just because she doesn't realize what she is doing. When dogs are startled awake, much like humans it can elicit the fight-or-flight instinct. Really this depends on how easily our intensely they startle. Perhaps a safe bed close enough to you all that she feels comforted, but far enough away that she won't get bumped or jostled. Hope this is helpful.
