My birthday is coming up in a couple months, and as I am a huge dog lover, I always ask for some dog books for my birthday! I am wondering about what books you guys recommend in these two categories: Dog breed reference and dog health. Here are the dog breed books I already have (I'm listing them off the top of my head): Top Dog, Encyclopedia of Dogs (Bruce Fogle), Choosing a Dog for Life, Dogs (Desmond Morris), Dog Breed Bible, AKC Meet the Breeds, and AKC's latest Complete Dog Book.
I don't have any books on dog health yet, so any suggestions would be helpful there!

Thanks everybody!

I just purchased Medical & Genetic Aspects of Purebred Dogs II by Slark, Stainer, 1994.

It was developed by doing computer searches of breed publications and research journals. It is almost 700 pages long, and it has a couple of pages on each breed. For each Breed, the information includes: a picture, origin and history, description, the show ring, Breeding and Whelping, Growth, Dentition, Recognized Problems, Behavious, and Old Age.

Of the books you listed above, which was your favorite? I am new to this, and building my library and would love a recommendation.
