Hello all!

I wonder if anyone knows why my new rescue pup (3-year-old mix) behaves the way she does? She loves affection, loves to be touched and sweet-talked, and hates to be apart from my husband and I, HOWEVER she sits up very straight and points her chin WAY UP HIGH. If we stop, she reaches out with her paw for more and begs for more loving. When we resume petting, she pulls back and points up again.

My last dog did this to some extent as well.

What the heck?

Thanks for any help!

My dog, also a rescue dog, loves being scratched on his neck. It's his absolutely favorite touchpoint. He'll also raise his chin to the ceiling.

Yeah my pup loves to be scratched on his neck and will throw his head back until his nose is pointing straight up, and sometimes keeps going until his head nearly touches his back lol:) It’s just your dog’s way of saying “please pet me here!”
