I have been Roxanne's person for the last 11 years without caring much about what kind of dog she is. For whatever reason, it has really been getting to me lately. Some details about Rox:
~ her mom is 100% German Shepherd, was caught as a stray by the local shelter already pregnant by unknown sire.
~50 lbs
~28 in height
~thin legs, small feet
~relatively short stature (at least compared to pure gsd)

When alert her tail often ringtails over (the sandy pic demonstrates a partial ring but I do not have any pics of a full ring)

All photos except puppy photo were taken within the last year (age 10 and 11). Before age 6 or so she was a bit more lean.

What's her personality like?

I have to say your dog's look is heavily GSD but the other flavor of a breed in there...it's just really hard to place. It's possible that her father was a multi-generational mutt without some uniform look of a purebred, but with enough physical differences to create the diversion from the complete GSD look. It's also possible that her father was part GSD himself, so that added to that look. The only other breed I think might be a possibility is some Australian Cattle Dog. But even if that mix was in there I would say it definitely wasn't a pure ACD.

Can't guess the 'what', but very definitely lots of GSD, as opposed to just looks kinda sorta gsd.
Lovely dog!
