Hi everyone.
My German Shepherd is 2 years old. He's a kind, obedient dog and he gets along great with my other 4 year old Golden Retriever. There's just one problem. We put bowls of water outside and inside for them to drink. However, my German Shepherd just drinks all of the water and leaves none for the other dog.
It doesn't matter how much water is in the bowl, he'll actually lay down in front of the bowl and drink all of it just so my other dog won't have any. When I put two bowls, he just drinks both of them. It's not him being thirsty because when the other dog isn't around he doesn't drink all of it (for example if my Golden Retriever's gone to the vets and he's the only dog in the house). I have to close the door when he's drinking outside and give my Golden Retriever a separate bowl inside, because I worry he's not getting enough water.
He also makes such a mess when he's drinking, he nearly puts his entire head into the water. Sometimes he drinks so fast he throws up after. My other dog isn't messy at all and drinks the normal way. I don't know how to solve the issue.
I'd be grateful for any advice!
