Ee! A year and a bit after getting on the waiting list, it looks like I'm in line for a puppy from the current litter! This may still change, depending on things, as the pups are less than a week old currently, so there could still be mishaps, buuuuuuuuut it's time for me to actually go from mentally preparing to really preparing!

Anyway, I'll probably go ahead and use this thread for pictures and such once I know more.

I just had to share because I'm so excited.

Now I'm going to go reread all of the housetraining stickies and puppy stickies and Ian Dunbar's books and Sophia Yin's books and...

Edit: Oop, and since it's been a while since I talked about it: future puppy is a rough collie from a breeder who is very dedicated to health issues. So these pups will be MDR1 normal/normal, no CEA, non-carriers for DM, normal OFA cardiac rating, plus mom has OFA good rated hips and dad has OFA excellent rated hips. <3

SO exciting! I am in your shoes. Have been on a waiting list a long time and was supposed to be getting a puppy from a mom who is due May 2, but a couple people on the list for her current litter have decided to wait for the next litter so we moved up. Our puppy comes home April 19th! We go next weekend to select one :) We are getting a cockapoo. Anyway, didn't meant to totally hijack your post, but I know how excited you must be after waiting so long! Congrats and can't wait to see pics :)

Yay! Almost there!

So what are the specifics you are hoping for? Male or Female? Color?

Can't WAIT to see the pictures!

Thank you, everyone! <3

I'm really torn about names, and it will depend on coloring. I don't know yet what gender or color I'll be getting, since she will be waiting for them to get a bit older to do the puppy-picking. I really like the name Kibeth (it's from the Abhorsen/Old Kingdom trilogy) for a female tri, but the only non-piebald tris are male. :'( Sooo still thinking. Suggestions would be great!

There are actually two litters, both from the same dad. One litter has 11 and the other has 9, so they are currently buried in pups, having 20 total. I can't imagine how crazy that must be!

As for colors, there are regular sables, a few tris, and a bunch of "whites" (ie extreme piebald). Both moms are whites. I do have preferences, which is for a female, buuut I also want a tri, and there are only male tris. I'm hoping maybe for a "white" tri gal, but we'll see what shakes out.

There are looots of pictures and videos on her Facebook, but I don't want to swipe many without asking, and since things are so busy, I don't feel like poking her, so I'll just do one picture of each. >.>

Here are the two that have now had their litters. This picture is from the end of February, and you can tell they've got pregnancy bellies! One litter was the 16th. And the other the 21st, I think?

Here's the dad. You can see he's been playing in all the straw they put out to combat the mud. :D Their collies all live in the house with them, but they also have a huuuge acre fenced in area for the collies to go out and play.

And because I'm weak, here's a picture of the litter of nine:

Sorry for the giganticness of the pictures. The resize function just does not work.

I have a huge love for tri collies, but those piebald ones are just beautiful! I've never seen collies with coloring like that.
They've really grown on me. When I first got on the waiting list, I didn't really think I'd be interested in them. Now I really do like them, possibly more than the "regular" ones!

Well, it's good the piebald ones grew on me! ;) I'll be getting one of the female tri piebalds! I wish they had a bit more black on them, as the gals are almost entirely white with just some color on their face, whereas the boys were the ones who ended up with more black, but that's okay!

So, now to think of girl names that I like! Sadly, the name I had thought of (Kibeth) doesn't work, so it's back to the drawing board!

We've decided her name will be Ginny! :) The Lady Ginevra, but we'll call her Ginny.
@K9Chaos Thank you so much! I appreciate your confidence! <3 I am very much squirming. Three weeks now until we get to go pick her up!

The breeder posted some pictures up on her public FB, rather than just emailing us them (I've been buried under almost daily pictures and videos... <3), so I feel okay sharing these with you guys!
