Forgive me if I missed any posts discussing this...I searched and surfed but didn't find anything.

My dog and I were playing earlier this afternoon (he's a 12 yr old Catahoula mix) and he was pretty excited and bouncing around more then he usually does (bad hips). He landed wrong on his front left, and I can't find anything wrong when I feel around...but he won't put weight on it unless he absolutely has to. But I just noticed when he was standing here eating, that his shoulder looked kinda funny. I don't know if it's because of the way he was standing...with just the pads of his toes barely touching the floor for a second or two at a time, or if its something in his shoulder. Basically, what am I looking/feeling for...he's not showing any discomfort in any certain area, just seems like the whole leg hurts. He's laying here in front of me, like he always does, and looks fine. I know not much can be done for sprains...just trying to figure out if its serious enough that I need to take him. (The ONLY reason I'm hesitant on taking him, is in the last 4 weeks, I've had the farm vet out for my 2 horses at almost $1000, and then my cat decided it was fun to play with tree frogs, and well...we all know what happens when we lick toads....and that was another $400...I'm broke!!) Thanks for reading my ramble!
