We are picking up our new addition next week. I would like to get a simple thank you gift for the woman who is fostering these babies but I wasn't sure if that was something people did. Basically, would this be weird to do?

Your choice!

Way back when I adopted my Min Pin, I did give a gift. My friend had been fostering her and even paid the adoption fee, as she really wanted Penny to come to me. I gave a donation to the shelter the adoption went through in her name. And then a bit later gave her a bottle of wine with wine glasses personalized with Penny's paw prints. Wasn't a super pricey gift, but more thoughtful and meaningful.

I think it would be a lovely idea. I also might suggest that you send her periodic updates with photos. I've never been a foster parent, but I rehomed a dog with a friend of mine. She's thanked me for finding the "perfect" dog for her, and I enjoy hearing how well he's doing with her family.
