Hi! My 6 month old puppy sometimes gets aggressive with treats and food. She is a rescue. We got her when she was 8 weeks old.

When we first got her, she growled at me while she was eating when I put my hand by her bowl. I took her bowl away. I then fed her by hand and she has been fine anytime we put our hands by her food bowl.

Sometimes, when we give her a treat, she will growl or show her teeth when we go near her. I took the treat away and put her on her back to show dominance. She has now started to grab food off the counter. She will then growl or show her teeth when I try to take it away.

How should I respond when she does this? Should I continue to put her on her back? Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

I actually had a Pyrenees that was food aggressive and she would growl and show her teeth and I was afraid if someone little were to take the food away she would bite them so I had to get rid of her... You should probably tell her "No" and put her on her back..
