So my dogs have had some GI issues for a while and the vet has not been able to narrow down what is causing it. Today, I sort of had an epiphany (I think). The house we live in had painted wood floors when we moved in, and whoever painted them did not seal them properly, so you can imagine dogs walking around and in high traffic areas, the paint has chipped up. We can sometimes find flakes of it on our bare feet.

We have meant to sand it down and reseal it for a long time, but I was wondering if you guys think maybe my dogs are sick from accidentally licking or eating these small paint chips? It makes sense to me, but I would like another opinion before I ask the vet on Friday at one of the dogs' appointment.

It's possible. If the floor was painted before 1978, I'd be a bit worried about lead poisoning. Also check your house for mold. If he was perfectly fine before and the GI issues started after you moved and haven't resolved, then yes it could be something in the house or yard.
