Fence Jumping Superdog

It's official, there's no fence my dog can't jump!

We were just at the park and she saw a squirrel in a tree on the other side of a 6' fence. I said "no", "leave it" and in one leap, boom, she jumped the 6' fence in front of her! I could barely believe my eyes. She's jumped those little 4' fences at dog parks many times but this was next level.

Before anyone gets all "you need to train her better, etc". Yeah, thanks, we've been working on it for 4 years and you have no idea how far she's come. I'm not looking for advice.

As much as I worry about her safety, etc.. sometimes I just have to marvel at her incredible athleticism! From tree climbing to fence jumping, it might be time get her in an agility program!

Wow that pretty high! I don't care how well a dog is trained, at one point it won't listen to you at all no matter what you try. It sounds like she is doing really well with training but had one of those moments, just like my dog! :):)

What kind of dog is she?
My sister's Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler cross jumps all of our fences too. I don't know if she could jump a 6 foot fence, that's pretty awesome.
It's a pain because if we want her put her in one yard she will jump the fence and go into the other one. :)

We're not sure what she is. The shelter told us she's a lab mastiff but honestly, she looks like a pit/staffordshire terrier lab mix of some kind. It's hard to say. Everyone sees something different in her. She's our beautiful little heinz 57 :)
heheheh you might be on to something there, with signing him up for agility!

6 foot fence is not that high. Not for dogs. :D

I had a german pinscher, 19" tall who could easily scale a 6 foot fence. Not a straight forward jump, but get over it without a problem. Working trial dogs have to scale a 9 foot jump. :)

Agility might be a good outlet for him.

yes definitely! im more used to dogs that are into tunnelling, lol. huskys like to dig, and squeeze themselves through gaps, and even my hound Ben, likes to dig. till we move to a bigger property, i think i will have to put my gardening on hold!

9' would be amazing! With practice, I'm sure she'd do it easily. She can run 9' feet up the side of a tree no problem and when she jumped the 6' fence, she nearly cleared it clean, she just touched it with her back legs as she went over.
