I always vowed I wouldn't splurge on a custom-made leather collar, but I am caving and seriously thinking of getting one for Oscar's 6th birthday* in July. So can you show off your dog's fancy collars for me and give me some good websites to look at. I know about Karma Collars and Ella's Lead, but there must be a gazillion other makers out there.

* Well I know it's really for me and not him, as he couldn't care less what collar he wears around his neck. :D

Both Freyja and Shorty have custom leather collars, Vegas has a nice leather Harley Davidson collar I found at a pet shop years ago. I'll have to get a better photo of Shorty's collar, it has bullets on it and a star. I got both from different sellers on Etsy.

I have several nice collars for a medium sized dog just waiting patiently for another dog that will fit them, but neither of my current dogs has a leather collar because Annie wears no collar, and Bus is gross and destroys anything nice- biothane mostly for him. If I could justify the cost for the abuse it would take, I think Collars by Riley are awesome looking, and Paco Collars also has a great reputation and well made stuff. The only decorative leather collar I've had came from a company that's no longer in business, and was simple and not super expensive, but still nice quality. It's two layers of leather, with suede between so the cutouts from the top layer stand out. That's definitely the nice thing about leather, the nylon collars from the same dog at the same time are far more worn, while this one is still buttery soft and looks fairly new!

Good luck in your search :)

I LOVE the ones we bought off Amazon. We've been buying these collars since my boy was a puppy. They come in 1" inch and also 1.5 width. The dog's name is personalized on the collar, and there is a brass tag in which they enscribe phone numbers or whatever you want. You choose a colour for the leather, and a different colour for the font. I've bought different colours and change it for each season, Lol. I don't have a pic right now, but will maybe add one the next couple days. Here is the link, you can check out their other listings for other leather colours and widths

Thanks everyone for the photos and suggestions. I am in two minds about spending the money, but it is fun looking at all the websites. Those Bullyflop collars are pricey!
@Turtle11, I just had to comment on your avatar, it made me smile because that is such a Mastiff sit. Oscar does a wonky sit with his leg out just like that too!

Oh, that's funny, I didn't notice that. Sits are probably wonky for them because of their size, Lol.

I got a better photo of Shorty's collar. I spent a couple weeks looking through collars on Etsy, there are so many talented sellers there with beautiful collars. Some of them are really pricey, but many are reasonable too.

I found Oli Collars already and was drooling over their products! Very tempting, but they are very OTT so I am not sure they could be considered everyday collars. Also not sure about spikes, although not all of the collars have them, I wonder what impression people would have of me and my dog if he was wearing a spiked collar?
