I just came home about 30 minutes ago to my dog doing the strangest of things. I’m worried it’s a neurological problem. I have no idea what’s going on. I recorded it, because describing it doesn’t do it justice to how weird it is.

In one video, I open the door to let her in, and she just goes CRAZY in circles, and when I shut the door, she just sits down, waiting for me to open it again. After I was done recording, I tried to get her to come inside, and she REFUSED, which is VERY weird for her. She always wants to be inside. In the next video, I went outside with her, and she would just stare at the door, walk backwards, and then walk forwards and stare at door some more. I got her to come inside, but then she stared at the door again. In the last video, I got her to come into my room, but she’s on my bed doing this motion pattern with her head. It’s the exact same pattern every time she moves her head. She’s STILL doing that head thing as I’m typing, by the way, and it’s been about 25 minutes. She hasn’t stopped.

It’s been about 30 minutes of the head thing now, and she’s still doing it in the exact same pattern. I think she’s trying to stop, but she can’t, or something. When I hold onto her hand, she stops, but when I let go, she starts again.

I would get her to the vet as soon as you can. Do you have an emergency vet near you if a regular clinic isn’t open and able to get her in ASAP? My first thought just reading was that she’s having a seizure. Dogs don’t behave the same way people do when they have seizures
Whatever it is, it isn’t good, and I would qualify that as an emergency.
