Hey there! I have a 13 yr old step/husky who has hip/joint pain and its gotten really bad quickly since we moved two weeks ago. We moved into a single story but it is all hard wood and our previous house was mostly carpet. I have him on some dog aspirin from petsmart and it seems to help a little. We do have ortho beds for him but he doesn't seem to like them  I also give him a strong hip and joint supplement to try and get him comfortable, these floors just seem to be kicking his behind. He opts to stay outside on the grass and luckily its been really nice out. So my question is, is there anything else I can do to help him out? My husband suggested putting dog boots to help him gain some traction but I'm not sure he will allow that. Otherwise he does great for an old man! Thank you :)

Maybe some carpet runners on the dogs higher traffic areas? A friend has a 14 year old that's blind and deaf, getting slow too. They bought an electric heating pad for under his bed, dog seems to love it. Dry and warm is very beneficial.
