Hello.

My pup, a Swiss white shepherd has elbow dysplasia (UAP) in his left leg.
He started limping at 4 months old. He had surgery 3 weeks ago, an ulnar osteotomy and pinning of the loose anconeal process.

I'm really searching for people who have been through the same operation. I'd like to hear about other peoples experiences of the recovery and how their dogs are doing now. Today my pups limp seems to have worsened, I am freaking out that the op is not going to work.

We have one week to wait until check-up X-rays and probably another 4-5 weeks of recovery if it is healing correctly. Trying to keep a 5 month old pup calm and entertained is a bloody nightmare!

Thanks

My 8 month old puppy was just diagnosed with elbow dysplasia (2 vet visits and then a specialist). We adopted her at 5 months old and, when she hit about 6 months, she started walking very oddly....kind of bobbing her head up and down. At any rate, it's gotten progressively worse and she is scheduled for CT scan and arthroscopy on the 29th. I'm also worrying about how to keep her inactive! We have 2 other dogs which doesn't make it any easier. Did your dog have surgery on one or both elbows?
