On the sunday (15th of September) I woke up to find my 9 month old red cattle dog sick with a tick, showing the usual symptoms of paralysis in the back legs, vomiting and panting. I ran my hands over her and found a paralysis tick and immediately drove her into the closest pet ER. When i handed her over to them they asked whether i had searched her for other ticks, which i hadn't, so they said that they would charge me an extra $38 to have this done. The next afternoon they called me to say she was doing much better and i could bring her home.

She seemed to be fine once i brought her home, but that night while patting her i found another 2 paralysis ticks on her! They were in obvious spots, so the pet ER hadn't checked her like they said they would. I put frontline on her and gave her some proban tablets. Throughout the night she seems to have been ok, but now i'm beginning to notice signs of wobbly back legs and panting again. When i rang the vets they said she should still have the tick serum in her, which will hopefully help her recover.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Or any suggestions on what the outcome is going to be like? Anything would be appreciated!! :(

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that. Does this happen a lot when she comes inside? I know that a lot of areas have a lot of ticks, etc. There may be a spot where a family of ticks are living and she's getting curious. I'm sorry it's not a lot of info.
