Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some recommendations for an easy to read book about puppy raising/ training suitable for an eight year old to read.

Kyra Sundance has a book called 101 Dog Tricks, Kids Edition: Fun and Easy Activities, Games, and Crafts that would probably be fun for kids. Also, Ian Dunbar has a DVD called Dog Training For Children that's been around for a while. I haven't see it personally, but some like it and some say the kids find it boring.

I would probably go with the Tricks book, because that teaches both the dog and the kids great skills and cooperation and keeps it fun.

Hope this helps!

@CarolM, thank you I'll look into the book. Its for my neighbours little girl, they are 99% sure keeping one puppy from the accidental litter Grandpa 's Maltese had with a Jrt. She wants to learn how to train it, I've started to show her some basics, teaching them to sit but I'm hoping a book of her own will inspire her to try some more training on her own.
