Hi,

I have an issue that I'm not quite sure how to deal with.

It makes it difficult for me to take him for walks. My dog Taco, will pull very strongly towards a dog to play. If I stop him, he will then growl. His heckles always go up when he plays with other dogs. But he is too rough with other dogs, and from what I can tell is always trying to dominate them.

He is a large dog, is 11 months old (90+lbs). I've had to get a pinch collar just so I can control him. We had a head halti but he was still able to pull me. I'm not a small woman either, I mean I'm 200 lbs myself.

He is so excitable, it's difficult. I hold him back and tell him NO or to settle, and you can see he's trying to control himself but it's almost like he can't control his impulses. Is this just something cause he's young or is there something I can do to help modify this behaviour. I wish he could just walk up to a dog and sniff, but he insists on pulling so hard.

Thanks for any help,

Lisa
