Hello!
I have a 3 year old APBT mix who has only ever had issues with having accidents as a puppy. However, until recently, she seems to constantly be pooping in our house! Specifically on carpet. We use an enzymatic cleaner and even had our carpet professionally cleaned 2 times. We have been blocking off areas of the house but she now has even pooped in my room (where she sleeps) in the middle of the night. She’s never had this issue before and it’s been going on since April. Not to be graphic, but the feces are very “healthy” looking. Firm and not super smelly. This isn’t a normal thing for her to do at all and she’s been able to have free roam of house for a long time. I know I should start crating her at night now, but I’m concerned whether or not she should see a vet. Anyone have experience in this? Should I take her to the vet? Maybe food intolerance?

With any unexplained change in toileting, its best to rule out a medical cause first so yes, I'd speak to your vet.

After that, if medical causes are ruled out, you want to find which meal she is passing. So add a few kernels of cooked sweetcorn to one meal. Once you find out which meal is causing the problem, you could feed that one a few hours earlier (so she poops it before bed time) or a few hours later (so she can hold until morning).

One thing to add, never scold her in case she thinks she is being scolded for toileting, rather than toileting inside. That might cause her to wait until you are not there (or asleep) to toilet, so she doesn't make you cross with her. Dogs don't always think the way we do!
