Dog just had a little blood from rectum

Hey so I just came home and my dog was energetic and happy to get outside. He went out and ran around a little and then squatted to poop and didnt poop but he got out like a drop of blood. Otherwise 0 complaints. He pooped last night and this morning, both were a little loose but not soupy. the other confounding information is that he ate a lamb bone yesterday morning. I know you are all going to roast me for giving it to him, but it was meaty and I thought he would chew on it for a while. But no, it seems to just be gone. I have a vet apt for tomorrow afternoon and the emergency vet said that it was probably ok to wait till tomorrow and see the regular vet. But I would love to hear any advice from you folks.

Also - as an update, he pooped this afternoon. It was still loose and had a little blood in it. We will see what the vet says tomorrow. Again, he is acting totally normal. Fingers crossed.
I take it the lamb bone was cooked???
Honestly if it was me I would have probably taken him to vet straight away but if you rang the emergency vet and they said he should be ok til tomorrow then I guess you can hold off.

Please don't give your dog cooked bones, they are sooo dangerous.
Really hope he is ok and let us know how he gets on in the vets.
Well, I went to the vet last week, and she thought the wait and see approach was ok for him since everything else about him is great. She also gave us antibiotics in case there was any infection going on. And she put him on a super bland diet of white rice and lean chicken. He is just as energetic as ever and is eating fine, no vomiting, but now he is not pooping. :( We walk a lot. I gave him a tablespoon of coconut oil this morning and took him for a run. He got out a small amount of poop, which was good but I dont feel like we are out of the woods yet. I am thinking of adding some pumpkin to him food tonight and/or coconut oil. Waiting for a call back from the vet. Thoughts?
I was actually going to sugest a tiny bit of pumpkin also before I even got to the end of your post. Did the vets ring back? Sometimes a bland diet can cause a little slowing down of the digestive system so im sure its nothing to worry about too much. Especially if he is still in good form and full of energy. If it was some sort of blockage surely he would be more lethargic and uncomfortable....although dogs are very good at hiding these things...
thanks for the response Tuxi, the vet rang back and she was not too concerned. He is still not pooping though so I have another apt for tomorrow just to make sure. He is still acting totally normal, we are walking a lot more than normal and one run a day. He is stoked about that. Eats great, excited to go out, just no pooping. I am thinking it is the white rice slowing him down. I would never normally feed it to him (or eat it) but that's what she recommended, white rice and lean meat. Maybe at least brown rice.

How long has it been since the dog pooped?
He actually just pooped a little poop (like half of normal) yesterday. Before that it was 4 days. He is still acting normal. I am still walking him 3x day and running him at least 1 x day and giving him pumpkin. Hopefully on the mend, but I am still concerned.
well, thanks for the comments, we are out of the woods so to speak and he is pooping like a champ for about the last week. Whew! No more bones for him.
