Hi, everyone. This is my first experience with forums and I look forward to hearing advice from others who love their canine companions. My best buddy is a Basset/Beagle mix ("Bagle"). I am remodeling my home and need advice about durable flooring options. I live on the east coast of Florida, so humidity and sand are ever present factors. Can anyone suggest a flooring surface that will withstand doggie toenails and the occasional accidents? I'm considering cork, vinyl, wood laminate, and porcelain tile. No carpet, please (allergies). Any recommendations?

In our old house we had real wood which is a disaster with dog. The new house has oak wood laminate. We love it it is very durable and does not scratch. We have had it down for about 5 years and it looks brand new.
