Hi,
I'm Cheryl..nice to meet everyone. :)

I have a two year old yorkie-poo who licks and chews on herself in a frenzy..at one point I thought she was chewing on herself alternating between licking and chewing maybe......she cries and then will sometimes chew her leg. She is not spayed. I've never seen anything like this and I've had dogs forever but in the past I've always spayed my dogs. She doesn't seem to be in heat at the moment because she's not swollen. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this before. When she stops she looks fine, she looks healthy. Any ideas?

Something is wrong - I'd take her to the vet right away. Could be a UTI, etc.

She could be in pain of some type. Something sounds like it's bothering her. Also check for fleas, my BF's parents dog would chew and chew when she had fleas and sometimes it would only be one or two so they were hard to spot. Also if your dog isn't spayed it's a good idea to keep track of her heat cycles so you know when she will be coming back into heat. It should be every six months. You don't want any surprises.

I finally realized that chewing holes in my blankets is a sign of pain too. I thought they were doing that cause they were in heat but now I'm thinking it's pain.
