Hi, my 14 year old Mini Schnauzer has been found to have arthritis the last couple of months.. we noticed she was a little stiff after long naps. She's on supplements now. It didn't seem too serious or anything.

Last night, we called her over when she was asleep on her bed. She got up quickly, but suddenly just collapsed. She got up again, and fell again. On the 3rd try, she managed to stand up and walked over very slowly. The whole night, she didn't move much. She's walking quite normally again today.

Has any of you experienced this with your arthritic dog? I can only find information on being stiff when getting up.... but not completely falling over.

I wonder if the way she was lying caused her blood flow to the leg to be restricted, you know when you lie on your arm and it goes numb?

I really don't know, if it happens again maybe try to video it for your vet.
