Hi there, I have a three year old 9 lbs terrier mix who started developing some weird behavior around mealtimes this past week. Our normal routine is that she gets really excited, I put her food out, she sits, I give the OK and then she eats.

Now- she still goes through the motions but when I give the OK she just looks at her food for a while and looks at me and maybe walks away and maybe eats one kibble and walks away and then comes back.. and eventually she eats it all but it takes a while and she keeps looking at me and just doesn't seem so sure about eating. It's a stark contrast from her ravenous meal times I'm used to seeing. I've tried feeding her by hand, sitting nearby, tried walking away.

Everything else about her seems fine- potty time is normal, activity level is normal. She's not weird about treats, just mealtimes. Any ideas?

My pups used to eat like ravenous fiends. Now they look at the food and then look at me as if to say "Can't we do better than this?". They are just not as hungry as the used to be. They eventually eat the dog food unless they have the opportunity to fill up on human food

She might just be bored of the food, especially if you don't change it very often. I feed both of my pups taste of the wild and change the protein every bag.
