My Flynn just started a puppy class, and upon leaving last night, it occurred to DH and I that we didn't know if we were supposed to tip the trainer.

Also, for a dog that can do all of his commands in the peace of our living room, Flynn is trying really hard to fail puppy kindergarten! We ended up with a semi-private class because of enrollment, so it's just him and the other dog, but he ended up stealing all of the toys in the room and hiding them under our chair, and nipping at the other puppy during "let them meet" time. *sigh* Kids are easier. Our kids never got "does not play well with others" or "does not share toys" on their report cards in kindergarten! ;)

Depends on where you are sort of but it's probably going to fall into the appreciated but not necessary. If you feel like he's really gone above and beyond, give him a tip but I'd say its more important for private trainers booked through a school.
