I am home now from the ER vet (since Saturday at @ 5pm) and it is 3pm Sunday; Addison is still at the clinic with an IV and will be getting her second transfusion of frozen fresh plasma in an hour. They are emailing the lab reports (thought I had them in the packet they gave me, sigh); I will post the labs as soon as they email them, I called again!
The history:
Came home yesterday, 4pm - let the dogs out, called them back in about 20 minutes later: No Addison; looked in the backyard and couldn't find her anywhere; Sent our other houla out to FIND, Addison is sprawled out in a thicket, couldn't walk, wouldn't get up: I carried her into the house; She looked "odd", she couldn't keep her eyes open, kept trying to hide in the house, I gave her a half a cup of H2O, she threw up lots of blood clots, bile and mucus. I rushed her to the ER, she couldn't stand up;
Had diarrhea, more vomiting blood, bile and mucous, they hooked her to an IV right away and started the labs; They gave her IV antibiotic. They repeated the labs bec. the liver enzymes (alt) were higher than any other they had ever seen, 7,000. Same exact results. Vet said the blood was coagulating "clotty" in the tube. They xrayed her, no intestinal troubles, nor obstruction, they could only get a little bit of her chest, and no throat xray done.
They did the blood work again, Sunday at Noon; the liver enzymes weren't being read by the machine, the vet said they were either too high to read or too low, so they sent them out to a different lab. Will get them back in a couple of days.
The vet stated she has liver disease, didn't know if it will be fatal, acute and resolved or if whatever she has will be chronic.
They don't know what she has....stated she could have eaten a mushroom in the yard, or something with blue green algae, xylitol (no way, we don't chew the gum in our house), but whatever it is it is poisoning her system. Some kind of toxin...
we don't treat our lawn, I walked the yard yesterday and there were no foreign objects in the yard, I had picked up all the poop, ???? She didn't get anything in the house either...HELP, out of ideas at this point. Our other houla seems ok but I am REALLY scared she will get sick too...I only have pet insurance for ADDY and the bill is now 6,000 and climbing.
Am calling the lab again to get the labs, back soon I hope.
Thanks for your best wishes..and prayers for our Addy...and Chloe (just in case).
Addy is on the left in Avatar. Sweet girl, old Soul.
OH! Chloe ate my bedroom door and tore down the blinds thinking Addy and I were in the room. Will post that pic later, She was frantic about Addy.

I hope she is ok.

I had almost the same happen years ago. The meter reader poisoned over 60 dogs in my county. He put phorate in hamburger meat and chicken. Dogs ate every bit.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Thanks! the labs are being emailed now. Hope Holly can see them too. My stress level is off the charts, and I am a clinical counselor! Probably called hysteria.

Eat something... anything.
You are probably low on blood sugar and too much caffeine... that combo will make you feel crazy for sure.

What a nightmare. I am praying that she gets better soon. Pay attention to Chloe or Addison may not have a house to come back to.
Hope the labs are there soon as possible.

Can I email them to someone who knows how to post them here???

Waiting to hear how she is doing. Hope it is good news! The story tends to point to poison IMO. I know rattlesnakes wouldn't cause this, but there are toads that are highly poisonous to dogs and people here in Arizona.
