I have been on an endless search to find a harness that fits Aspen. I went out again this weekend and had no luck.

Has anyone had a custom harness made? If so, I'd love to hear your experience! :)

I have:thumbsup: I think I spent well over $200 in harnesses trying to find one that fit Zody, didn't choke him, or didn't hurt his back. Heck even the Webmaster which is supposed to fit just about all dogs didn't fit him. I ended up giving up and finding an Etsy shop that claimed the harness was no choke and would customize the size.

This is the shop I ended up trying https://www.etsy.com/shop/PupPanache?section_id=15057419 I use the Tiny Trotter harnesses for Zody and she adjusted the fit for him. The harness fit great and over all is sturdy, my main problem with it is that it does stretch out with use, BUT she has a nylon version and a fleece lined nylon version of the harness that is sturdier and designed with larger dogs in mind. She does stand by her product and if the problem is with something that happened on her end (she tried new velcro once and it wasn't strong enough) she will fix the problem and cover the cost of shipping. Over all I've had good experiences with that shop and have ordered 3 harnesses from her.

Oh I remember @crock has a TON of knowledge about finding the perfect harness. If I am correct I believe she had a custom harness made.

Sorry you've had such a time trying to find a good harness. Poor Aspen.

What have you tried? I use the Comfort flex on Roxie because she is deep chested and HATES harnesses and the Front Range on Forbes.

I miss seeing Crock around here!

I've literally tried every harness Petsmart carries, plus Kurgo and Puppia.

Her problem is that she's deep chested, super lean and long. So, a medium will dig into her armpit and a large is way too big around her girth.

I thought about getting a Ruffwear harness but to spend another $40 on one that doesn't fit is tough to swallow.

@Aspen726, buy it off amazon, then you can ship it back if you need to. I've purchased harnesses from there before that I had to send back. Also look into the comfortflex.

https://www.amazon.com/PetPDC-ComfortFlex-Harness-Medium-Saffron/dp/B005S6WBPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476206247&sr=8-1&keywords=comfortflex+harness&th=1
It's really minimal, sits far enough back behind the armpits and is adjustable around the girth. It's the only harness I can comfortably put on Roxie (when she is in a harness).

Trucker's (talk about a weird body shape) Dean and Tyler is awesome. We are upgrading (I think).
