Yes, this is yet another "what is my dog's breed" question.
Found this little guy in my father-in-law's carport a few weeks back. Starved, ribs and hip bones showing, 25lbs. I'm guessing he's about 6 months or so based on his teeth and size of his "goods." He just kind of holed up there and wouldn't leave. Father-in-law just had open heart surgery, so I brought him on out to my place as I already have 2 boxers and a schnauzer mix.

Waiting for my vet to get back in town for rabies shot, neutering and what not. Already gave him a 10-in-1 vaccination shot from the local Tractor Supply and a Vectra3D flea treatment and started him on heartworm at the recommendation of my vet via email (I have other dogs and extra meds).

I'm thinking some sort of a mix with one of the "pit bull" type breeds, but I'm not totally sure. Sometimes I think I see Lab, sometimes I think I see Shepherd, sometimes I think I see full on terrier of some type. Does he ever have a long tongue. He's got that elbow dysplasia type walk like a lot of bully breeds do, but I wonder if that could be the result of rickets or something as malnourished as he was when I found him. Just have a soft spot for the doggies and couldn't let him stay on the street. Figured it would be good for my dogs to socialize with a strange dog (they don't get to do that much) and good for him too to socialize with other dogs.

He's probably about 18 inches at the shoulder and is now a good, healthy 45lbs. What do y'all think?

It would be easier to tell what he might be mixed with if you can get a picture of him standing still from the side. Whoever takes the picture should be as level to the dog's height as possible.
I definitely see what SC locals call a 'bulldog'. That is a general term used here that describes a dog who is a multi-generational mix with obvious 'pitbull' type breed in it. The blue coloring is prized in my area too.

My fawn brindle (am.bulldog/lab X mutt) was 49 pounds and 18 inches at six months. I'm not sure what her brother weighed at that age, but he is a trim 70 lbs at 7.5 months. If your boy's age estimate is accurate, he could get pretty big. Maybe not as big as a boxer, but close.

I will try to get another picture of him standing. I have one of him when we first brought him out to the house, but I don't know that it would be entirely accurate as he was at the 25lb weight with his rib bones showing and hip bones sticking out.

He is definitely a blue with possibly some brindle mixed in. He's already half as big as my stockiest boxer. I have a red fawn and a white. My red fawn will be 4 in October is tall and lanky and weighs about 70lb. My white will be 4 in February and is a little shorter but stocky and tips the scales around 75.

Now that this little guy is eating good food and getting good excercise, he is bulking up. He's already put on 20lb in the 3 weeks that he's been at the house. This is good!! I can see him maybe getting a little taller and bulking up to about 70-80lb. My neighbors had a female pit bull dog that was around 80lb that was short and stocky. She was unfortunately stolen, but they have another one (American PBT), but he looks very different than this guy and their former pit bull dog.

I do understand that the Pit Bull refers to several different breeds, just trying to figure out which one this guy might be. I'll see if I can get a side shot. He still does look like a puppy though...chunky little belly now that it's full
