A little over two weeks ago, I had to take my dog (technically my parents' dog that I'm taking care of since they've temporarily moved) to the vet for emergency surgery after she ate carpet and couldn't pass it. She just got her staples taken out on Saturday, and since then she's had trouble pooping.

As strange as it is, it's like she can squeeze out a little something, and that little something isn't hard and/or dry; it's generally runny or a decent consistency. What's also confusing is that her mood hasn't drastically changed. She seems frustrated when she can't push out more than she is, but she's otherwise still pretty happy.

I'm about to try the pumpkin thing, but is there anything else I can do AND is this a fairly normal occurrence?

If it was 24-48 hours after the surgery, I'd say it was normal, but this... It worries me. Definitely call your vet about it.
