I have a one year old lab, and recently she has began to act very strange. She started itching 2 nights ago and it's constant, she licks bites and chews herself. This has gotten so bad that she can no longer sleep, she will lie down for around 5 minutes before jumping suddenly and itching again. I have noticed she is coming into season and was wondering if this had anything to do with it? I have flead her but this doesn't seem to have done anything. I hate to see her distressed and in pain.

Any new plants/pesticides/chemicals in the house? Has she been anywhere new? New walk path/park/hike trail?

When you say you have "flead" her, what do you mean?

What about her diet? What doe you feed her?

Hard to know for sure, but it sure sounds like fleas. That sudden jumping up and biting is exactly the way Samantha has acted when she has had fleas in the past. If your dog has bites, you may in addition to treating the fleas, need to get some anti-itch meds, as flea bites can itch like hell for 10 days or more after the bite. Sounds like it may be time for a trip to the Vet for diagnosis and meds.
