I've been working with our new rescue and using a clicker. I've been putting our other dog in a bedroom so that the clicker isn't confusing, but was wondering if there's a better way?

I crate one dog while I work with the other. One dog can learn to stay on a mat or something while you work with the other, but that's a more advanced behavior and a brand new rescue can't be expected to do that yet. Trained dogs can also learn to work at the same time and figure out who is being rewarded, but again, not really something you can do with a brand new dog. At the beginning it's best to just separate them while you work with one.
