This is our little dog Toby. He is about 2 years old now, weighs a whopping 12 lbs. He's very overweight because at 10 months he was almost full grown and weighed 9 lbs. Fortunately for him and his family (we love him) he is down from 15 lbs and continues to shrink to a more healthy size daily due to good exercise and diet. He will probably need to lose 2 more lbs to be down to a normal size for him.

So- What do you think? Long haired Chihuahua or Chihuahua Pomeranian mix? He's a rescue from the local animal shelter and has an absolutely beautiful personality. He's a little social butterfly and loves to play with all his doggy friends at the dog park.

The pictures below are older pictures. Most of these are from before he gained his weight and we got his allergies under control. Concerning the last picture- he actually collected those 'toys' himself and piled them up for him to sleep on. We took the picture before we took the paper away.

As always, your opinions are greatly appreciated!

That's a hard one. I'd have to say there's some pom in him, because he looks identical to my grandfather's pom X.

He looks like a long coat chihuahua, we had several in our shelter that looked just like him that were from a breeder. He's a real cutie!

He definitely does look like a long-coat chihuahua, but the problem is his weight. We also have a short haired standard chihuahua, she weighs about 6 lbs. He is much larger than she is, not only because he is overweight, but because he is simply built bigger.

Not every dog will fit the standard. Im aware of 30lb pomeranians that are purebred as well as 15lb chihuahuas that are as well. Unless your dog is from conformation (show) lines you will see a huge variation in wieght.

Your dog is beautiful reguardless.
