Hello everyone,

I bought a dehydrator to make chicken jerky for my dogs. I cut off the fat, cut into less than 1/8" slices, place on dehydrator racks and turn it on for about 10 hours. My dogs love them! Sounds simple? Yes, the process is simple BUT it takes me forever to clean and cut the chicken slices. I work all week and would rather not be slicing chicken breasts for 3 hours on the weekend.

Has anyone ever tried grinding chicken breasts and dehydrating them? I'm afraid it'll fall through the openings in the dehydrator racks. I was thinking of putting parchment paper underneath but I'm afraid the chicken won't dehydrate properly. I would rather not buy a grinder and have a kitchen appliance laying around that I will never use again. Please advise, thank you!

I've tried sweet potato before and it wasn't a hit with them. I know they dislike fresh carrots so I'm not sure dehydrated ones will be greeted warmly. Thanks for the suggestions though.
