What would you be using it for?
I know some people claim its a cure all for everything but of course it isnt.

Ive used it with a young dog to help fear/ anxiety problems.

In my work as a home carer Ive seen older people use it as a relief for symptoms of joint pain and sleep disorders.

Spent an absolute fortune tried it for 6 weeks for my dogs joint pain and it didnt help one tiny little bit. In saying that lots of people swear by the stuff
Thats the point it is promoted as a cure all for everything and it isnt no better no worse than any other cure,
My mum went for dry needle therapy and asked the therapist if it would work he said his clients fell into three groups. Group 1, didnt help a bit, stupid idea. Group two, helped a bit not bad would try again and Group three, Hallelujah this is the best thing since sliced bread.
I suppose most treatments/therapies are like this even conventional medicine works better with one person than another. Its all a case of trial and error.

My shepherd mix had grand mal seizures, and I was so desperate I did put him on CBD. Paid a lot of money for it the past 2 years. It did not seem to help with the seizures, but that 15 year old dog was the first one to want to go for a run! He did seem to generally feel better but the seizures were what took him away from us in January.

I think to lose any loved fur-baby is extremely painful. My brother and I were broken when our baby Jazzy died.

I am an advocate and reseller of CBD based products. My feedback would be as follows for pets and people:

1. Efficacy of CBD
Although I want to sell, most of the research around CBD has been found to be most effective for sleep and anxiety related issues. There has also been tremendous study and feedback on the impact on children with seizures.

2. Seek medical help, especially when on other medication

3.Research and ensure that the products you are buying have the relevant certifications and that they do not mix any other additives into their products like opioids that might affect you adversely.

Again with all things, there is no silver bullet and it might take multiple interventions to assist you with whatever ails you personally or your beloved pooch.

Anyone have any experience using this with older dogs?
Yes, I have.
CBD has, like any other medication, different effects with different applications and individuals. So you won't know if it is effective until you try it.

I used CBD on one elder dog and did not see any effect, but of course I could not ask him how he felt. that was using biscuits with CBD in them, and I now know that taking the drops of a tincture directly is much more effective and also much easier to regulate the quantity being given.

The elder dog I have now has trouble with mobility when the weather gets chilly and damp. I give him drops of a CBD tincture that has a regulated concentration. I can do the math and know exactly how many mg. I am giving him and I put the drops into his mouth.

I have noticed that it helps him a great deal, but of course it is not a cure-all and doesn't make the problem go away. Nothing does.

If you are inclined to try it, I recommend a brand called Global Xtracts because their CBD tinctures are what they say they are. I use this for myself and for my dog. Beware of ads online, because many of them are scams and you won't even know you have spent a lot of money on a vial of coconut oil with nothing else in it.
Do the research into how many mg you should use for the size of dog you have, and start at the lowest end first. Maybe that is only one drop. Do that a few days and see if there's any noticeable effect, and if not, work up to more if this is indicated for your size and weight of dog. Best of luck.

I have an old dog, and not long ago I noticed that he just sits in his place, has no appetite and does not move at all. I went to the vet, and he told me that the dog feels pain all over his body and doesn't have much to live for. He advised me to use CBD oils to relieve his pain. CBD has analgesic effects that reduce inflammation and enhance muscle relaxation, it can increase mobility in dogs that are experiencing muscle cramps, arthritis, or other musculoskeletal issues. CBD’s potent anti-pain effects can also increase mobility by decreasing the pain associated with movement. I saw that he felt better, but I couldn't hope for miracles anymore.
